Unlock to Sprint?

I'm selling two Droid 3's and a friend asked if they can be unlocked for Sprint. My answer was that it MAY be possible, but I believe the data frequencies are different so if anything, only voice will work.

Anyone got a better answer for him?

By the way, I'm not posting an ad for them here, I know this is not the area for that. That information was pertinent to this question so I included it.

Highly doubtful. Sprint will see the ESM/IMEI # and basically tell you they can't use it since it's a Verizon device.
You CAN try and see if it'll work on Boost or Cricket though.
Also, isn't the D3 a world phone? I'm reading there are some crazy hacks you can do to get it working on T-Mobile or AT&T but really don't want to recommend them.
