Help Unlocked bootloader help

Lurker
Is it ok to install an OTA update on a phone that has an unlocked bootloader but is not rooted? I have an Lg Stylo I unlocked it to try and get root but that failed. I would like to install the system update i recieved but do not want to mess up my phone.

Welcome to AF, @haelinicole :).

I'm guessing this might have been your guest question:

If you did not succeed in getting root and your /system partition was not modified, then your device should successfully install an OTA.

There are checks in the OTA to detect changes, but they don't always cover/address everything...but if the root installation was not (or ever) successful, then you should be okay.

Cheers!

edit: by the way, the bootloader being unlocked is of no consequence.
