Root Unlocked Rooted Telus Milestone won't work with Bell SIM

had the same problem with a Hong Kong milestone and ended up with a Fido sim card as NO other would work.

well if you are using milestone honk kong version will only work with fido or rogers ,why ..
simple fido and rogers could get an edge signal since your milestone is not compatible with canadian 3g as bell and telus work on only hspa ,that s explain why .if you look at your milestone you should have only edge sign E AND NOT 3G or H.

I bet your problem was you had it set before to use 2G only networks.
