Help unlocking Verizon galaxy note 2 LTE

Hey guys! I was given a Galaxy note 2 LTE which was on verizon. Im trying to unlock it to work with straight talk. Everything I try does not work. but i wanna make sure it is unlocked before i buy the sim card. on the verizon unlocking policy it says they do not lock LTE 4G phones, so do i even need to unlock it or should i just get the sim card and see what it does? I've tried casual and that didn't work. any help is appreciated, I am a newbie at this.

I have the same phone and Verizon. I have been told that all Verizon phones in the last couple of years (LTE) have been unlocked. You should be able to use Straight Talk for voice with no changes other than the SIM card. To get data, I think you need to change the APN codes/settings. I'm not an expert...I don't even have the t-shirt!
