Root Unlocking your Spectrum

Barretth

Newbie
Does anybody know how to unlock the LG spectrum so you can use it on other networks other than Verizon? Anyone have any experience with this or know how to do it? I'm sure allot of people would love to know as pre paid it's cheaper.

I like the yet part. Btw I look forward to seeing what you put together for a ROM on our phone thanks for taking on the project I as well as many others are excited!:)

VZW is supposed to release an update to allow it for global use

so is this going to make it easier to unlock it? i'm not following.

I actually never knew it was possible to "unlock" a phone so you could use it on any carrier and actually use it for pre paid services. That certainly would be awesome.

I read on XDA last year that the DROID Incredible was able to be carrier unlocked to work on Boost Mobile. That would be a great thing for someone looking for a $50 unlimited everything plan.

Maybe someday we'll be able to do the same thing...

Ive used an HTC Evo on VZW after my dinc was having issues and i was waiting on my gnex to come in. Alot of work but its possible. And once they allow it as a world phone you should be able to request a sim unlock from verizon.

i know verizon phones can be put on pageplus and they get great service.. atleast in my area... im unsure if they can do 4g phones... but its $55/month unlimited call/text and 1gb data.. not a bad deal here since boost/sprint gets little to no service here

itll probably work with att after its unlocked.... i doubt tmobile will work with their weird data frequency

I've heard about people activating a throw-away flip phone on VZ and then swapping the ESN to a CDMA smartphone. Only works on a few devices and I think technically illegal.

But I know MetroPCS can "metroflash" some VZ phones to work on their network.
