Use TWRP it better for cm12.1. Or replace /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl file.

Hey, this trick works for me to remap the button channel up (sim switch) to recent app. I deleted generic.kl and rename the generic-D325.kl to generic.kl and change key 249 CHANNEL_UP to APP_SWITCH
Edit also the gpiokeys.kl
In case someone wants to know how
