Unresponsive Optical Trackpad

The trackpad in my desire is a bit "laggy".

I dont know if this is normal but in menus it only moves 1 tile at a time even if I drag all my finger over it. I have seen blackberry trackpads and they are supoer smooth!

Sometimes when editing text I have to move it 3-5 times to get to the right position.

Yeah mine's not great, sometimes it seems not to work, other times it seems over sensitve and will move several characters at a time. I have tried cleaning but it did not improve things

 

[Phenomenological]

If you flick your finger over it quickly it will move the cursor a small amount. If you move your finger slowly over it it will move the cursor further. Try it.

Yeah there is definitely a nack to doing it but once you get it then it works perfectly.

I use the 4 arrow keys on SmartKeyboard Pro for editing text.
And there is a TAB key, too.
