Root Unroot for update?

Hey guys, I'm new to rooting/unrooting and I have a couple questions.

1. Is there a new update after FROYO 2.2? If there is..

2. I removed some of the bloatware apps such as CityID, Blockbuster, etc., will that effect the update? Thanks guys

I do believe that by removing some of those apps you may not be able to update but there is a thread somewhere here I believe that has the files for download ....

Ok thanks man. I think i'm going to reinstall the apks, and just rename instead of delete.

I am not 100% sure but I would also be careful renaming .....or at least make sure to include apk at the end and I believe no spaces ....
maybe someone else can clarify but I would rename one just to test out first

Ok this might be a dumb question, but how do i get the APK files back into the apps folder. I have the APKs on my SD card but how do i move them to the app folder

I think I would just use Root Explorer to move them back. Of course, you need to be rooted to use Root Explorer..

You use one of your file managers .....I prefer estrongs file management ....I usually just find it in file manager and once you click it it will ask you if you want to install

Best to use the paid version of TItanium Backup and "freeze" the apps.
They won't shop up and the services don't run, but they are still there.
It allows you to still do OTA update.

I did that and was able to update to 2.2 from 2.1.
Be careful doing *ANYTHING* with "social networking" services or apps. Messing those up could prevent you from updating unless you factory reset.

Don't ask how I know, just follow my advice and leave those alone.
