Root Unroot?

I might need to bring my phone in as its not functioning properly.

If I do, I'll have to unroot, correct? What does this process involve?

Does it matter what I'm running, if I follow the steps for unrooting without RSD lite? I used ROM Manager to install FRG01B without root, then got the OTAs from VZW, yet I'm still rooted, so I'm thinking about trying this method instead.

Let me guess, you still have the Superuser Permissions in your app drawer, right? Try opening it and see what happens, you aren't rooted anymore, but the Rom Manager method really sux as it leaves traces of root.

I _think_ the guide linked should still work, but since you now have stock recovery, it's a crap shoot for getting it past the certs, even though the file used in that guide is an official Master FRG83G/2.2.1 file. The file will erase everything in /system, but it's the first part where it checks to see what you have now that _might_ give a problem.

All you can do is try it out.

good luck

link is dead man. I'm trying to unroot with no trace of root.
Sometimes it's just real slow loading, sorry. I don't pay for a super fast dedicated line. That's why there's no ads and I don't ask nor want contributions. But if you can get there, it will remove ALL traces of root.

good luck
