Root unrooted phone pulled update -- can I root now?

So I have had my phone for about a month, I was going to root but saw that jh7 came out, I was wondering if I can root now or if I need to wait for updated files that work with jh7. I pulled jh7 and my gps is working worse then before, it also seems to lag more so I want to use the lag fix if possible. just wondering if anyone has done this or if its something I should wait on. Thanks for your help!

If you PULLED the update manually, at this point its not over. according to a samsung dips#!t customer service rep, we have to wait for the rest of the update to be PUSHED to the phone. All I know is with all the pushing and pulling I am starting to think we are getting _ _ _ _ _ _ ! At this point you may want to give it to the end of the month.
