Root Unrooted using RUU

Last night, after a few failed attempts by various methods, I ran an RUU with sense 3 thinking it will unroot my DHD.

But I'm having doubts as to whether it is fully unrooted. I have tried root access for ES file explorer and installing TB, and both failed. But when I boot into hboot, It is still s-off. Should I even be able to get into hboot if I'm unrooted.

After running the RUU I did receive a small HTC update for HTC watch and something else.

The only reason I decided to unroot is I'm hoping to get an early upgrade in the coming weeks and want to sell my DHD as unrooted.(I will say it has been rooted when I advertise it though). And wanted to let it "settle" down with a stock rom.

Hi Steve,

If you used the RUU, then you are unrooted. The RUU would have put the stock firmware/recovery/etc on it, but will not have put you back to s-on. Root access failed for TB, as you are no longer rooted.

The update you will have got was one that was released recently for, as you said, HTC Watch. I think that HTC may be getting ready to release ICS (someone on here confirmed that it is being released July/August)

Not sure if you even have to advertise the phone as "was rooted", as you have run the RUU and now, to all intents and purposes, it is stock. It will receive updates direct from HTC, rahter than from a carrier

To be honest the RUU when so smoothly I thought something had to be wrong

After less than one day I'm missing being rooted, stock rom is sucking my battery, only minimal usage and down to 33%, came of charge at 6:15 this morning. Got 2 days when on Runny Extreme. I really wanted to spend a few weeks on Icecoldsandwich but the last few releases were so buggy & laggy on my DHD I gave up.

Still, might pop into Phones4U next week and look at the OneX and GS3, not due an upgrade til Oct but they do good upgrade deals so might just be tempted

I ran the Sense 3 RUU on my mates phone and thought the same... glad you're all sorted though
