Help Unsyncing Facebook Contacts

Lurker
I just got my HTC Incredible 2 and it's been great so far, except for one thing: it syncs my Facebook contacts with my phone contacts. I use the Friend Stream widget instead of the Facebook app, since it's already on the phone, but it floods my contacts with my Facebook friends which is annoying because I don't actually call all of them. I know the widget designers mean well, but it's just making a giant cluttered mess. I already went to the Friend Stream settings and unsynced the contacts, but they still show up when I push the phone button. Any suggestions?

So there is two types of facebook apps on the phone (I know, redundant), Facebook for HTC Sense which is what the Friend Stream app uses, and just the regular Facebook app (which needs to be downloaded from the market), that does not integrate with sense automatically. Which app are you looking to unsync from your contacts?

I'm trying to unsync the Facebook for HTC Sense one. Never downloaded the Facebook app since I noticed the phone already came with one...waste of memory.

You can go into settings>accounts and sync, go into the account called facebook for htc sense. Unchecked the sync contacts box. If that doesn't do the trick, try remove account at the bottom of the same menu.

I have already unchecked the box that says "sync contacts", but all these Facebook contacts still show up when I push the "phone" button to make a phone call. I don't really want to unsync the whole account because I still want to be able to see Facebook updates on Friend Stream. Any other methods?

Have you tried editing the settings in the People application?

i.e Open the people application. Hit the settings touch key, followed by the 'View' option.

This menu gives you a list of accounts contacts' to display. Make sure the Facebook account is unchecked.
