Unusual WiFi behavior after ICS update: browser doesn't load websites, but Play Store works

Hi,

I upgraded my Note to ICS about 24 hours back, and have generally had no problems. But today I notice that over a WiFI connection that works without problems on my computer (albeit with a non-authentication proxy server setting, to browse the internet), I am unable to access any website through the 'Internet' browser.

What could be the cause of this? I have tried Firefox and Opera Mini, and both do not work. I should point out that it is over this WiFi that I upgraded to ICS and it is only for the past few hours that I have been unable to access websites through the browser.

However, I am able to access the Play Store, and its not cached (I checked by searching for random software). Also, I am able to log into Google Talk.

Suggestions/ideas are welcome!

Thanks in advance.

I don't think this is unique to ICS since I also see this on GB if I switch between data and WiFi using BatteryXL. I assume that it is a problem with DNS as the data connection is there ok but no URL can be resolved.

I usually just disconnect from the access point and reconnect. This seems to fix the resolver configuration and I can resolve URLs again. In fact, I just had to do this 15 minutes ago ;)

Hope this helps...

Regards,
Eric Ritchie.
