Unusually Slow Facebook App? Solutions or alternatives?

The facebook app on my evo 3d has been almost unusable and slow for as long as I can remember- I've tried everything- clearing the cache, removing updates, updating to the latest version.

Even on wifi, it just takes forever to load anything, and more often than not it just stays on the loading page without ever moving. it's quicker for me to actually try and use fb on the browser.

Does anyone else experience this problem? the app was faster on my old htc hero, so it's really annoying that this expensive, dual core phone can't handle such a crucial app.

Does anyone know of any solutions? or if not, are there any good third party apps for facebook that are good? thank you

You can try FriendCaster. It's the only real alternative. But no, I don't experience a problem like you do. FB isn't snappy, but it's not horrifically slow, either.

I am having the same problem, it was fine until yesterday.
I did the same thing, tried re-installing and that did not work.

agree. it is borderline unusable for me too. i commented on it in the feedback page of the market. with a dual core phone and great 3G coverage, this shouldn't be happening. has to be a problem with the app.

Its because the app is a piece of crap. Use the mobile version of Facebook.

What did you do to make it "lite"? Do the notifications work, because they dont work very well on the official app.

I can say, the slowest time I see with this app - is when I sign into my account. And even then... that's understandable. The system has to load the entire feed (depending on how many recent post that was made within that time) of all your friends. If you're experiencing slower than normal loading time, you may need to uninstall a few applications or have your phone checked out.

The app just plain sucks. Its slow on my Thrill. Like someone mentioned. The mobile version is better.

When its slow just back out and go back into it and it should be good.........when going back in don't go through the recent app list, go through your app list.
