Unwanted Apps

I love my sony xperia phone, it really is very good BUT why cant I get rid of those VERY annoying apps that I did not ask for, and do not want. Google is the worst. They have several built in apps that are very annoying and often use up bandwidth with unwanted updates. I do not want google movies, google+ or google magazines - go to HELL!

Research rooting your phone & the custom ROMs available for it. Your device specific forum within android forums would be the place to start.

The only way to remove those apps is to root your phone.

Be careful about what apps you uninstall. Some apps depend heavily on other apps to run properly, so make certain you research what apps are safe to uninstall.

Yes..but.. ...Isn't Google Movies and Magazines United States only? And I'm sure not everyone wants to share everything and be social on Google+.

My new Samsung didn't come with any of that Google bloat, except for YouTube, which is useless in China.....so I rooted and bye bye YouTube app.

You'd disable these apps ... Settings, Apps, All ...
You've to uninstall their updates before you're able to disable

Just be careful. Is it Google Talk or Google Voice or something that messes up your other google services if you disable/freeze/uninstall it? Cant remember which it is but yeah get rid of Play Music, Play Movies etc.
Also, dont disable the stock SMS app or you wont recieve any txts via your 3rd party sms app :thumbup:

I don't use any of the google services in my phone so not worried about upsetting another. I tried the uninstall all updates a while ago but never saw a uninstall button, will have to do another check. By contrast I used Google as my main search engine on my laptop and pc and also use gmail, far superior to others, mostly
