I'm using GO Task Manager on my Samsung Captivate and noticing that there are a lot of processes in memory, many of which I'm not even using at present. For instance, Facebook, Fancy Widgets (I have it installed but currently no widgets in use), Weather Underground, Media Hub (which I desperately need to uninstall, but not sure I'm ready to root yet), Google Voice, and others that are not currently in use. (All those apps are installed, I just don't use them a lot.)
Why is this? Why do these processes pop up for no reason? They eat up valuable memory but provide no real benefit (and I know some apps like to try and remain resident in memory so they launch faster next time you click on them, but this is ridiculous). Is there any way to kill them and keep them killed until I actually want to use them?
