Up time 60% to 27%

Well, this worked for me. I installed Handcent and taskilled messages which brought me to 60%. So I messed around some more and installed Twidroid (since I twittter) and disabled Peep (completely, notification and everything).

I am now at 27% up-time...

I don't know if its a fix or if it will work for you, but it works for me.

I think you'll find that many of those apps you killed will just randomly start back up on their own in the background within minutes.

Not so for me, aside from the browser and gmail app, which I usually just let run or put on the ignore list. All the other apps I have killed usually don't come back unless of course I use them again.

They do however on soft reset. So after I soft reset I'll usually kill everything minues the essentials.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Android apps calls code from different applications it needs, and that's why you might see an application like Sprint Navigation repeatedly open even though you are not using it. The same holds true for the default Messages application, which is why you can't delete it.

I could be wrong, but this is my understanding having gone through the Android Programming 101 class

That makes some sense, I do see the Sprint Nav quite often, especially on reboots

hmmmm so does anyone have any idea which app is using/calling data from sprint navigation? i would love to not have it continually start. oh and for what it's worth, i use handcent and when i receive/send messages, Messages app starts but i usually kill it right then, and it doesn't affect the delivery at all from what i've seen.
