Help Up Time and Awake Time

VERY noob question...anyway, I see these two times on my phone, "Up time" and "Awake Time". I installed a new ROM too if that helps any.

My Up Time is: 8:33
My Awake Time is: 8:34

What do each of these stand for?
 
up time = time since last bootup. from dead off.

awake time = time the phone is awake.. not sleeping .. not in stand by mode.. time it is being used.


now that your 2 times are equal.. that is not GOOD!!.. unless you have had the phone on and being used the whole time.
You need to get this resolved. Your awake time should be way less than up time.

Try a battery pull.
try to reflash the ROM.. and wipe everything.
try to flash different kernel

I had just done a fresh refresh of the phone for a new ROM. Used a .zip file to wipe everything off the phone and flashed the new ROM and hadn't done a reboot since. I just checked my battery information upon coming into the new interface of the phone.
 
your phone will eat up the battery .. if it can not sleep correctly.

note: phone is awake mode.. while being charged and on (not completely turned off)

Oh, okay, I gotcha. I do have "Do not sleep" active. I will be sure to undo that as well as turn off screen after ____ minutes.

EDIT: Actually, my setting was not set to "Stay Awake". But I did change my other setting so the screen would turn off after 10 minutes.
 
Even after I did that...my phone's awake time and up time are still the same. And the phone has been locked the whole time. What else can be done?

EDIT: Oh, well in that case, it is charging right now lol well not charging, it's done charging but still on the hook.

I'd advise getting Spare Parts from the Android Market. Charge the phone and let it go through one complete (whatever that is for you) cycle. Go to Spare Parts and click the bottom entry "Basic SpareParts settings". Go to Battery History then click the drop down at the top and switch to "Partial Wake usage". It should give you a graphic display of what's keeping your phone awake. From there you either manually kill the offending app or if not needed get rid of it. Another handy tool for your arsenal should be Android Assistant. This does all kinds of stuff but the most I use it for is a startup manager just like your computer. You can stop an app from starting from re-boot through that. Good luck.

One of my ROMs...it may have been this one, actually came with that app. I opened it but didn't know how to use it or what it did.

On an update...I checked the battery "Awake" and "Up" time and they are no longer equal to each other. I believe he was right and this was just due to me having it charging. By the way, which number should be bigger? Up or awake?

Say...:
Up time: 14:35
Awake time: 8:27
(those are made up times, I don't have my phone on me)
