Hi there,

I live in Spain, do you know if there is an update available from 1.6 to 2.1 here ? i was searching on the htc web site but there are no news

What's your build number?

You can find it in settings >> about phone.
 
Ah ok, you're on one of the original firmwares then. The OTA updates only seem to appear for those on the most recent 1.5 firmwares, which all have a build number of 2.73.X.X.

Your build number tells me you have an orange branded handset, so you need to install this firmware. Others have reported as soon as they update to the right 1.5 firmware the OTA updates arrive instantly.

You have to have HTC Sync installed to run this installer, and it will factory reset your phone. So you'll need to backup anything not on the SIM/SD card or backed up to google. Apps like SMS Backup & Restore, Astro (for apps) and the free 30 day trial of MyBackup Pro (backs up a tonne of stuff) should help you there :)
 
Not to thread jack but I was wondering the same thing. My build number is: 1.76.405.6 146733 CL#47214 release-keys I assume my phone uses the same update as SteCu? Thanks.
 
SteCu: Do either of the tricks in this post help? (Setting the date forward/typing the code). Also, make sure the update didn't mess up your wifi/apn settings.

VIPIS: It's the same process for you, but you need this firmware in stead since your phone isn't Orange banded

the code does not work,

i am not conected to the wifi i am trying to that with my 3G connection.
