Help Update 2.3.5 support

Hi everyone

My names Deonne, I have a Wildfire S and reside in Malta. I' m hoping you brainy lot can help me :) I did the latest update a few days ago and since then i've been having a bundle of problems. For starters it messed up my APNs but i sorted them out quick enough, it messed up my storage but the biggest problem its giving me is when it comes to using the pre-installed browser. When I am using the Wi-Fi the browser works fine yet when i have my mobile network connected the browser wont load, i have tried fiddling with settings but to be honest i dont want to commit myself to anything i dont know too much about what i'm doing. Ive done a factory reset yet the problem is still there. The funny thing is that when the mobile network is on facebook, you tube, whats app and other apps work its only the internet browser. I hope someone can help me as i love my HTC to peices.

Thanks and smiles in advance

- Dee :)

Hi Deonne, welcome to AF! :)

If you've factory reset the handset and the issue is still there, that's potentially not a very good sign :(

It could potentially be an issue with the cache (I'm not sure the app cache gets wiped during a factory reset) so you could try clearing that? Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Browser/Internet -> Clear Cache & Data.

If that doesn't work, have you tried an alternative browser? My personal preference would be Dolphin if you want to try that?

Hi El Presedente

thanks for your reply, i have tried clearing the cache many times yet the problem is still there, i havent tried downloading a new browser but i will do so now and see what happenes, if this problem is still there is there anyway i can go back to the previous adroid update, its ever since ive updated to 2.3.5 that its been giving me a headache! lol

Thanks - Dee

Just an update, i've installed dolphin yet the porblem is still there when using mobile internet :( what can i do?

So, silly question but I can't seem to find a definitely answer anywhere: is the update to 2.3.5 only for certain models? I have the tmobile version and I'm curious if I'm ever getting this update

If you've factory reset, installed another browser and the problem still exists, I suspect you're going to have to call HTC, sorry. :(

It's only for unbranded handsets at the moment, if you're network branded at all (network logo on the back of the phone, network splash screen when you boot up), then you won't be getting the update until your network has added their own customisations (no idea how long that will take, sorry).
