First off welcome to the forums nicluvsya :)

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having!

Have you tried a battery reboot by removing the battery reinserting and restarting the device, sometimes this can be used to solve issues like these.

Also these issues can sometimes arise when OTA updates are installed, and it may be recommended that you Factory Reset the device...

I can't help you other than repeating the advice that a factory reset MAY help.

However I could advice you that next time you get a notice to update, first backup everything. Also check if you can update via Kies on a PC or Mac, instead of using the update function on the phone itself. Updating using a computer usually yields better results and less bugs. This is because OTA updates and Suite updates are inherently different.

Hi,
I updated my Samsung Captivate Glide last September, and had similar problems.

I finally had to do a factory data reset, and that resolved my problems. Now it's working fine.

Thanks for replies think im going to have to do a factory reset as its so annoying. Dont want to lose everything though so how do i back up my stuff. Thanks

You can make backups of your SMS, Contacts, and Calendar using Samsung Kies.

Alternatively, you can send them to your Gmail account as well for cloud backup.

As for your app data, like save games and such, no way of backing them up unless you are rooted, or they allow for cloud saving (like Com2Us games). Some apps have an option to export save data to SD card so you can check them out if they have it.
