Bought unlocked Desire Z last week, running v2.2.1. Inserted Vodafone Spain PAYG voice + data sim. Successfully transferred old Blackberry content via Bluetooth, Everything wonderful.
THEN I installed automatic update - 1.7-something, I think. The phone started sending all my stored SMS messages - and I had hundreds - randomly to my contacts. I didn't realise this was happening at first, and by the time I managed to stop it, it had sent so many messages that it had used up 40 euros of credit! The message function then stopped working.
I did a full factory reset but this didn't fix the messaging app. I then did a new upgrade, to 1.82.405.1, and this appears to have fixed the SMS program, but after I transferred back the old Blackberry data it then tried to resend all the messages again, and was only stopped, I think, because it's chewed up all my credit. Aarrgghh!!! Any useful suggestions? I've deleted all my SMS's but it's very inconvenient.
