Help Update appeared but did not install

So I was sitting at my desk and my phone popped up saying "SYSTEM UPDATE: a system update is ready to install. Your phone will restart and install the update." Being eager to get the update, I pressed Install Now but nothing happened. A new system update page did not appear. I went into my settings>about phone>system update but it says my phone was up to date (version 2.2). My phone did not restart. I switched to 3G, thinking it may need that enabled to download and install but that did not work either. I finally tried restarting my phone to see if THAT might work. Nope. No more "ready to update" alerts have popped up since then. This is super annoying! Any ideas on how to get it back??

Note that you'll want to stop at step 8. Or you'll be really confused as to why you can't flash clockwork lol.

Apparently the secondary solution is to hboot into recovery and clear your cache. Delete any unnecessary apps that might be taking up space. Then set your time forward a month and check for updates again.

Either method will end in the same result. :)

I just had a simular issue when trying to update the 4.08 update. I tried the options listed in that thread and the only thing that worked for me was the factory reboot. After that it was able to download and everything is up to date now.
