Sorry, I still don't know a date. It is in testing now though and I've been told that it is running very well.
EDIT: Apparently, testing is set to end on the 29th so it will probably be rolling out a little bit after that.

It's cool the way that goes now days. I used to be dead set against that sort of thing, but, when I found out Android was Linux based, I found it in keeping with the way I view open source philosophy, at least partially.
Even though there are some Linux distro developers locking up their code here and there, etc, it's that core philosophy that is golden, in my book, and it seems to be carrying over a bit to Android.

I noticed that too.
The way I'm kind of calculating this and based on past experience with Verizon and updates, this MR will probably be out in the first weeks of December and 2.2 will probably hit us around the beginning of 2011.

If I would've known this I would have kept my Droid 2!!!!! The only good thing about this phone is the screen. Every time I send a text my screen lock pops up and goes back to the text, which I have to go back into the message I was writing because it knocked me out. Why not fix this? Excuses...Excuses...Excuses!!!!!!

obviously rooting isnt for everyone, and again obviously ur phone should work well out of the box.
however, those of rooted running custom kernels have little or no lag/lock ups whatsoever on 2.1

This isn't normal and I haven't seen anyone else with this problem. If this has been happening from day one then you need to take the phone into Verizon and get a replacement. If it just started then you need to be looking for a conflicting app or something else that is causing a problem. A factory reset may be in order, but this isn't something that people are waiting for a fix on, that I am aware of.
This happens to me as well. I think it is caused by no lock, doesnt bother me enough to remove that app from my phone though.

The bug you describe has "rogue app" written all over it.
Try removing apps one at a time to test for which it could be.
More importantly, post the bug in the Fascinate support area

so folks who've see this bug can provide a remedy for you.. waiting for an update to fix it is not the way to go.
4) Enhancements were made in the software to improve the accuracy of the signal strength that is displayed
Does anyone know if this actually makes the signal strength stronger? Unfortunately, I went back to my Storm 1 until there's an update to fix the 3g Signal. Mine goes in and out. I got a replacement phone and that was the same issue. This is the only thing that really gets to me about this phone.

)No. It only changes how the signal is displayed in the About Phone section. Right now it reads in 5dbm increments starting @ -86. On DJ05 it reads in 1dbm increments.
This update will not improve your reception.

Keep it up. The truth; whoever they have monitoring twitter has very little (if any) knowledge of the actual date.

Thanks for the update(s). I can't tell you how disappointed I am that it will be '11 before we see Froyo. Of more concern to me is not being able to have both my work and personal calendars sync on the Fascinate and having to manually enable A2DP when I am in my car. I would have thought for sure at least the calendar issue would have made any "fix" updates.

i wouldnt put any stock in the expected dates for anything. vzw is notorious for making updates, putting them in testing and then they leak, having dates for the ota and then not putting them out.

that being said it wouldnt shock me one bit to see froyo in a few weeks or a few months. really with how bad vzw is at stopping leaks, (ie the dj05) i would hazard a guess that within a week of 2.2 going to testing we ll have it from the dev community.

Thanks for the shot of optimism...but the realist in me is now searching for a 3rd party app that will allow me to sync both calendars...
