Update Coming

While looking at the keyboard screen, hit the "gear key" (settings) and look at the options, there should be an option regarding the two keyboards (one with the voice-mic key and one without, there is also an option to activate the "period" shortcut). Let me know if you find it or not.

My Portrait Keyboard Types are Qwerty and a 3/x keypad, both with the microphone. Perhaps you have somehting else loaded that added the other keyboard. I found the "period" option, that's nice.

I got the OTA update yesterday morning early. I have noticed the new "unlock" screen -- seems easier to use. Phone does seem faster overall. I was prompted for a bunch of app updates and did them. My microphone button is still active on my keyboard. Firmware version is 2.3.6; kernel is 2.6.35.7-FP1.

OK if you use stock Email app, hit compose new email, then get your keyboard on the screen. To the right of the space bar, hit the gear key and look at the pop up window and the options.....keypad sweeping, auto-capitalization and under that "Voice Input" with a box to check. Unchecked, no mic on key board, checked and you get mic on key board. Same set up for text messaging. I don't think we had this as an option before. I know before the update, I always had a mic on the keyboard but after the update, it went away and I freaked....then I found the option to check and it appeared again.

I love my Charge again. Faster, the unlock is easier, my SVTP still working although it says android hotspot instead of sch , and my battery lasted all day and all nite. I did make a few calls and it connects to my car well. I'm keeping it. Before the update I was ready to get VZW to give me a new phone. I shouldn't even have to think about carrying a plain phone just to make and receive calls without worrying about the battery going in three or four hours. I consider my phone to be a part of my personal protection equipment.

My wifes phone updated, and she showed me where she gets a green '+' sign in the notification bar that turns out to be ads... turned up around the same time as the update but I am leaning towards it being an 'app' that is allowing them.

Thoughts? Anyone else getting these?
