The version I have installed is version 1.4.1 and the version in the Market is 1.5 but it says I have it installed. It is definitely the older version I have on the phone because there is no 'chat' function. Any idea how I get the newer version?

Go to Settings>Applications>Downloaded (tab) and click on Facebook. Check the version number it says

That is what I am saying. I have the older version on the phone. The Market says there is a newer version but it says it is installed and wont let me install the newer version.

In application manager I see this [note version number]

then when I go to the market it says Facebook for Android is installed. When I click on it and scroll down a bit I get this [note version number]

and if I scroll back up to the top I get this [note, no option to uninstall or update]

The Market doesn't say 1.5.0 is installed, just that you have Facebook for Android installed. Is the version on your ROM in /system or /data? If in /data uninstall it and redownload it from the Market

it is in data but when I click on it and Open App manager and then Uninstall it says Uninstall not successful. Reflashed the ROM and this sorted it out. Thanks for your time.
