Help update for my new phone?

Hello. I wanted to ask a question and also introduce myself. My name is Jewels and I just purchased my Galaxy Note 2 a few days ago. It was $299 at Best Buy when I bought it but it went on sale yesterday for $199 (lucky me) so of course I went there and got the difference!

But I would like to know when the phone will get the 4.1.2 update? It is from crappy Verizon unfortunately but they are my carrier for my other lines. I do have the multi windows but in settings, phone is still showing 4.1.1

I love this website and hope someone can let me know if tbis update is out already for Verizon in the US and if so how come I did not get it? Thank you.
 
I don't know if it's out for Verizon, but you can try going into settings > About device > Software update and see if the download is available.

I downloaded it from AT&T a week or two ago.
 
Thank you. Yes I tried that and it said the phone was up to date but I thought it added multi window and my phone has that. Strange. I also saw online that the update did come down the pike for Verizon Note 2. Can anyone with US Verizon version confirm they have it? Not by rooting, just OTA update. And again, thanks
 
I don't know if BB had a restocking fee, but I would look into returning it, signing up for the $50 gift card, and repurchasing it for the lower Price.
 
No they don't have a restocking fee which is so nice. What do I need to do to get the $50 card? I actually traded in my 4s for this. I was not yet due for an upgrade. I believe they applied the $50 gift card to the value of my Iphone possibly. I took this back yesterday and did get the sale price of $199. Are you saying I might be able to get another $50 off that price? That would be awesome.
 
Just checked BB site and in order to get the $50 gift card, you had to have purchased your phone Feb 10th or after. I purchased mine early last week.
