Update on the Official Phandroid Application

It sure seems that way by no response at all :(
Shame since the app has alot of potential!
Thanks,
Bryan

The developer for the Phandroid app (TVictory) is also the site developer for both Phandroid and AndroidForums. Just imagine trying to maintain two of the busiest Android related sites on the net and the app to go with it. No easy feat.

Actually TVictory is just our web guy. We have a couple different Android developers but he's not one of them.

I'm going to ask Rob to reply to this one.

Ah thanks for the clarification Phases. I was under the impression it was him as he did a few Phandroid app tests (or so I thought, lol).

wow,,,thats on my birthday,,,,hopefully i have figured out
how to get my data cable working by then,,,,,lmao!!!! :D

I brought this to the attention of the mods over 2 months ago, whats another 2 months wait? Lol. Maybe ill delete the app and access it with my phones browser.

They seem to have already set their mind on NEVER using tapatalk again so now we just have to wait and wait and wait.
Supposedly they've rethought this, so yes, we are waiting - right now the app is pretty useless to me, it errors out on virtually every thread I follow.

Yes we talk about this time and again. I can't install it myself so really all I can do is keep bringing it up and hope that it happens.

I agree with this. I use the app more than the computer and I constantly have problems with it (not loading, error's, etc).

The app hasn't been working since the last Market update, June 29th. I had issue with the beta and thought the Market would have been more stable, but at last, it was not. I had to uninstall the app a few months ago and I am using the browser instead.

We've been reporting about various issues for months and have seen no updates to resolve any of them. I know the developer and Rob are both busy with maintaining the sites but it seems like the Phandroid app is not really a priority for them. Most apps get at least ONE update a month...the Phandroid hasn't had one in 3 months. It's really frustrating to see such a great app with so much potential be disuse by some of the most loyal fans here.

/Rant

Agreed, it's very frustrating. In my case the app would be fine (I don't run into errors too often) but it seems to cause horrendous slowdowns on my phone unless I freeze it with TB when not in use. Same for El Presidente with the same phone, apparently. The bug only happens when I use cyanogen (so 99% of the time) but... that's never been a problem for any other app.

I appreciate that it's out of your control though Phases :)

I feel like contacting one of the news section reporter guys so that they will make it more public and maybe we will see some action. That security disclosure recommends going public after 5 days and this update request has been over 5 weeks now I believe. Sigh.
