Update PRL?

I'm not going to argue again, but come on, just step back and think. Do you really think that calling a number will physically start a fire and burn a card? That's so outrageous.

Yeah arguing over a forum is pointless. Perhaps they meant it would deactivate the sim card or render it useless...idk and im sure u mean it was outrageous of Verizon to say such a thing. As for me, I was just passing on the information that tech support gave me.

A coworker just bought a Rezound and has been getting really great battery life. Over 24hours with 40% remaining (with light usage, he is new to Android). This blows my mind because I've forgotten to unplug my phone overnight and saw it run down 5% an hour with the screen off.

I checked to see if they snuck a software update but he is running the same 1.02.605.6 as I. But my PRL is 15088 and his is 15098.
How do you update PRL?

Also, what is your PRL?

I just went 29 hours with 33% remaining, avg usage. My PRL says 15098.

Not that this is entirely scientific, but I'm noticing enough of a trend to give me hope that batt life may improve for me after it updates. When it updates. IF it updates.

What you have heard is the standing line from Verizon. I had the Thunderbolt at launch and they included an instruction sheet for activating the phone (mostly I believe since this was the first 4G LTE phone) and on that sheet it said under no circumstances should you dial *228 or it would damage the SIM card. I was also told, like you, that it would fry the card by Verizon CSRs & Techs. What was stupid was with the Tbolt and the Rezound, was that one of the first things both phones tried to do was dial *228 to start the activation process. But even though it may not actually damage the SIM card, I wouldn't make a habit of dialing it, since apparently there are no benefits for a 4G phone.

Btw, I'm on PRL 15098, in an area that was Verizon from the start, and on the 1400 minute family plan.

My wife and I both have a Razr. She had the old prl. The only way VZW could get it too update was a new SIM card.
