Root update problems

Hello guys, I have a DHD with software version 2.37.
When I do an update search I get n update to version 2.50 and when I try to update it, the phone gets stuck on a black screen with a blue Droid and a yellow exclamation mark over its head inside a triangle.
Someone help ne update my phone.

P.s. the phone is rooted, maby it has something to do with this.
 
So how do i update my phone, harry, show me the light.
i tried to use voodoo rootkeeper to unroot the phone, but did not help, requesting answers.

Harry is correct, you should not be accepting an OTA update on a rooted phone, as it can cause issues. There is a way that we can get you on the most up to date firmware, but your phone would not be rooted - by running an appropriate RUU (Rom Upgrade Utility) - this is an exe file you run from your computer to restore things to stock settings. I would need to know if you were carrier branded or non-branded and how you rooted your phone.

Out of interest, if you want it on the most up to date stock firmware, why would you need to keep root? I would have thought that you would have preferred to try a custom ROM (as you can get them for the DHD that are Ice Cream Sandwich, which is the latest version of Android).

greatgera - referring to your PM... I can help you to get custom ROM's on your phone... there are many different custom ROM's available... would you want something that is Sense based (similar to the stock experience) or would you like to try Vanilla Android (similar to what you would find on the Nexus range of phones)?

Also, when you rooted, how did you do it?

what is the rest of your build number? a quick search shows a couple different ones that it could be.

it may also be helpful for you to tell us the info on your hboot screen,wich will tell us your current hboot,s on or off,ship vs eng,and your current baseband.

if youve rooted with the AAHK(whch should mean youre radio s off and superCID) then it should be easy to get you onto a custom or stock rooted rom of your choice :)
