Help UPDATE: Temp Adobe Flash workaround (WAS: Flash not enabled on Xoom at launch).

Got to play with it for a bit today at the store... Flash 10.1 shows in the market, but no go on the install.

Suuuxxxxx. But not shocked. ^+1 for trying the .apk from XDA. Flash for Xoom?

EDIT: apparently someone on XDA said they tried this APK, and while it installed it didn't actually run when visiting Flash sites. Oh well...I still think thoe folks at XDA will have a temporary fix for this within a few days, mark my words ;)

I can also confirm that the XDA Tegra 2 flash 10.1 does not work with either the stock Android browser or Dolphin HD. I can install it but it doesn't seem to be recognized. Bummer.

I'm using it right now to respond to you. It could very well not be 100% efficient to use on honey, however its doing what I expect.

Considering Flash works amazing with the beta on the gTablet and the Xoom has the same chipset, some folks will be stunned how well Flash can play on a passive cooled chipset device. Flash on the Gtablet makes my Inc and Droid X seems like G1's.

You folks should be very happy with the results :)

I tried skyfire but all it does keep buffering @ 2%... Also in market skyfire says it's not optimized for 3.0.
I have the same issue. I've put in a support ticket with skyfire so hopefully they will get it cleared up in the next update. Here is a link where you can add to the support ticket. In my experience the folks at Skyfire will get it working, they are very proactive at getting issues resolved:

ive been raving about skyfire since launch day. its a decent workround for the time being...

Only issue is they data mine what you watch and send the site info to businesses that pay them. No info about the user, but all videos played are stored and used for data mining.

Might want to avoid jiggly sites!:o;):)

Has VZW given a date for Flash and the microsd working? I was told that the microsd would not be updated until the LTE update for Xoom is ready. The rep said that since the port uses both the LTE and the sdcard, it was going to be the same update.

I do not think he meant you had to take your Xoom to a dealer to get the microsd to work (like LTE does), but just that is when the microsd would also be working (same FW update).

I messed around more with the Xoom and like it, but can not shake the host issue. Yes, I have mentioned it a lot, but just seems a waste for Xoom not to have it.

Skyfire works good on my iPod 4. Wait, am I allowed to mention Apple? :o

Flash performs amazing on the gTablet, so when you folks get it on the Xoom, you should be surprised how much better it performs compared to any current non Tegra 2 device :)

Here is the download for flash on the Xoom.
