Update to 2.2 - Use Kies 2.0.0?

Apologies if this topic has been covered/beat to death in the past but I wanted to check and see which version of Kies I should be using. I was reading another thread where people were saying to use v1.5.3 of Kies for this update but when I clicked on the Samsung Korea link v2.0.0.11023_38 was installed. This version of Kies is nice but I don't see a way to update the firmware on my Captivate. What am I missing here? Also, I'm using Win 7 Pro/64-bit on my desktop.
 
More info:

I downloaded & installed Kies mini and it updated the program to v1.0.0.11014_6. I seem to be having problems with my Linksys/Cisco E1000 wireless router and AE1000 adapter. Kies mini FAILS these 2 steps:

SAMSUNG Android USB Modem
USB Mass Storage Device

I lose my wireless connection and then have to fiddle with my cable modem/router/adapter in order to just get back online.

I was trying to follow the steps on this Tech Republic page for the Froyo update.
