Update to 2.2

Alright, so I just bought a HTC desire from Kuwait..and It's got the Middle Eastern Unlocked software on it.
So.. When I tried checking for Updates.. it says that there aren't any available.
Is there any quick and easy way to manually change my phone to the froyo 2.2 without killing my phone :]

I and many others have done this it takes it to the stock froyo and then you can receive the updates OTA from HTC, I just installed the latest OTA yesterday!!!
