Help Update to 2.3

Is it possible to update the Optimus V from 2.2.1 to 2.3, 2.3.3 or 3.0?

If so, how?

you can use a custom rom to get 2.3.3. rodimus and aosps roms are the best out there for the optimus v. I would make sure you read up know absolutely everything you're going to have to do prior to doing it since you can brick your phone if you mess it up.

2.3 is not available yet unless you root your phone

If Samsung is applying the new update on the Galaxy, LG should be doing it. Samsung is notoriously slow.

Just be warned that these custom Roms are not created by the service providers and more so then not are filled with bugs,certain functions of the phone may or may not work,in my opinion not worth doing it.

Yeah buddy!! Lets hope it's true lol. With my computer non smarts I am too scared to root to get it early so this is my only option lol

The international version, Optimus One is getting it in May so expect the carrier versions to get it around that time.

Rodimus is not 2.3

You have Zefies and AOSP, the rest are 2.2 roms. Both are built on Cyanogen, there is no basic 2.3. MMS is still not working on 2.3, and native tethering is also broken but you can use Barnacle for that.
