update to 2.3

I asked @VMUCare on twitter the other day, and they said:

Hi there, as of right now we have not received any information about updating the LG Optimus V, ^TW

Where did y'all hear the other dates?
 
Looking at the history of sprint and virgin mobile (samsung intercept). The sprint intercept got there update months ahead of the virgin intercept even though both are the same device. But the good news is that since they are the same device we can flash the gingerbread update to our phones and everything will be good

The only information I've gotten from VM is that a rep DID confirm we would be getting the update...they just "didn't know" when

What the hell good is that,could not go with no bluetooth,why install these custom Roms makes no sense,i purchase a phone for it's core functions,not to brag about being able to beta test something.
 
Yeah, no Bluetooth here either. I prefer a wired earpiece, and I never did manage to set up file transfer to my Mac via Bluetooth (I use SFTP instead).
 
Thnx guys lol currently running aospcm7 thing on mine works reallllly good everything works i htink but havent tried bluetooth and probably never will
 
I wish we get flash player with the upgrade . Adobe flash player 10.2 for android 2.2 froyo is out, but not compatible for Optimus V.

With as many holes and security problems Flash has, I'm grateful we don't get it on the Optimus V! :-)

As I understand it, Flash is incompatible with the Optimus due to hardware issues. An upgraded OS won't work, unless it automatically converts all flash to HTML5.
 
Adobe Flash does not work on the Optimus V. It needs an arm7 processor while our's is an arm6. The Dolphin and Skyfire browsers convert flash video content to HTML5 on their servers then send the HTML5 video to your phone.
 
Thanks for clearing that out, guys :) Now I'm content without flash player knowing it is not possible for Optimism V. I don't really need it on my phone anyways.
