Which version were you running when you got the OTA?

Finally! I received notification overnight and am installing now. I'll try to get some work done today, but I am anxious to play around with my "new" phone. I am in south central Kansas, and I was on stock 1.5.

Any leakers that can confirm receiving it so far?

I haven't seen a confirmed report of a leaker receiving the OTA.

It makes sense, as the OTA would certainly detect the existing OS in the device, likely seeing it as already updated if any 2.1 is in there even though not the completed official 2.1.

Got update sometime overnight. Downloaded and installed in 25 minutes, via wifi. Was running 1.5. I live in northeast Ohio, Ive only had the phone for about 5 weeks.

Got the notice when I woke up this morning. Monday 05/17/10 at 4:30am
Nashville, TN with stock 1.5 OS

Notes:
Took 8 minutes to download with 3G
Took 2 minutes to verify
Reboot
Install took 10 minutes
Goes fast up to 60% then hangs for about 5 minutes
then jumps to 100% for a couple of more minutes
Reboot
Second install took less than 5 minutes
Reboot
Stalled on the Verizon splash for a few of minutes
Took a few minutes after Sense UI showed up to complete
Complete

No problems so far. Connected to Google all contacts and calender events are fine. Interface definitely faster and more colorful icons.

All downloaded apps still on phone. Reverted back to stock Sense UI screens so I've done some housekeeping to get 'em like I like 'em.

Just did a reboot, no problems. Reboot definitely faster than before.
That's all, gotta get to work now.

Chicago here. Got the update at 1:00 AM this morning, downloaded rather quickly via wi-fi (I would guess considering the speed). Currently installing and like the poster above it seems hung around the 60% mark.

I think Verizon might be telling the truth saying that us leakers will get the update... but probably not OTA... at the end of the rollout, they'll probably tell us to manually install.

Both my wife and my Eris runnning 1.5 got the update Sunday morning. I didn't notice it until around 9 am. Central Ohio.

FINALLY... woke up to the update this morning! Going from stock 1.5 since November. I'm in Ann Arbor, MI. Have patience yall... IT IS COMMING!

I know this is probably Captain Obvious is obvious, but the best thing about the poll results is the current context of all of the playful needling that Frisco got about being the apparent sole holdout for 2.1.

It's fabulous.

Early this Monday morning at 12:34 am in northeast Mass.

It failed the first time complaining it needed more memory. So I deleted all my messages and some apps; it worked the second attempt.

Seattle area running 1.5. OTA 2.1 arrived Saturday night (the 15th) at 11:00 PM Pacific time.

It went well, but I'm now having issues with HTC Sync not working. Reinstalled the newest version on the PC but Eris doesn't see the PC. "process com.htc.bgp has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.", with a force close. I set the Connection Type to default to HTC Sync and enabled USB debugging. What am I missing?

Mine came in last night at 11:20 local Phoenix time. I was running 1.5. With the exception of something changing my dad's name (was listed as Bob, now listed as Rob) everything seems to be fine.

Me: @VZWSupport Why is it no one with a leaked 2.1 v1, v2, or v3 received the update? And please don't say "it's random" or "it's on the way".

Response: @lilxerolil The update has not been delivered to all customers yet. *ZC

Me: @VZWSupport I understand this. But NO ONE with leaked versions has received the OTA. If it were truly random, shouldn't at least ONE person?

Apparently this Twit-rep doesn't understand the general concept of not wanting to hear "it's on the way". Still awaiting a response...Wonder if he/she is just sittin there scratchin their head tryin to think up an answer. =/

Edit: Update

Response: @lilxerolil There is still 8 days left for the update to be completely distributed no worries. *ZC

Me: @VZWSupport That still doesn't answer my question. You're beating around the bush as to why no one with a leaked 2.1 has received the OTA =/

I'd update my previous post but I'd prefer to bump this...

@lilxerolil I know personally of 3 users with leadked OS's that have received the update. *ZC

@VZWSupport Then why did you advise someone with a leak to do a factory reset back to 1.5, even though a leak reset remains as 2.1?

@lilxerolil It was a miscommunication. *ZC

Interesting....

Received notification of the update being available for download on 5-16-09. I'm near the Eastern edge of Los Angeles County. Total time to download, verify download, and install update was 45 minutes. My GF has the same phone and lives with me and she has not yet received the notice of update. Was running 1.5, I think, before the update.

Things that changed:
1. Wallpaper was reset to default
2. Bookmarks that I had on one of the screens were gone but they were easily added back

I waited and saw the notification this morn with a 2:06a.
W. Mass here
Had a bit of a time saving my contacts (waited till last min to do it)
So far all seems ok, will customize settings tonight.

Only because they still insist that leakers will get the OTA... but it doesn't really matter at this point OTA = v3

Actually, the people operating the Twitter account say leakers will get the update. They have no idea what they are talking about.;)
