Help Update via KIES not possible

As far as i know i should be using a official ROM in order KIES to recognize my phone.

If you change the firmware/kernel from stock to something else, Kies won't recognise it. The only way to update officially with Kies is to have the official firmware meant for your phone at stock.

Last time i've installed the latest official ROM for Bulgaria (where i'm currently located) but the phone is brought from UK. Should i flash to the latest UK ROM in order KIES to be recognizing my phone again?
