Help updated automatically in sleep last night? how do i delete vz navigator from apps

Ok. Woke up this morning to updated droid x with latest operating system. Somehow it updated automatically while I was sleeping. My droid x was running the original software from the original first release. Why did it update automatically?

Also how can I delete the v z navigator app. To ensure my kid doesn't accidentally launch it and cost me money. I've tried everything but it will not delete. Thank you!

You can't remove it unless you're rooted, but there's probably restrictions you can set up through VZW. And the phone's default settings allow it to automatically update.
