updated -> died

Hi!
Today when I was on the wifi, a message appeared asking me if I wanted to update. I chose yes, I know from experience that this can take time, so I left the mobile for an hour or two. When I came back, the phone appeared to be off. So I tried to push the buttons, but nothing worked.
I when pluged it into the battery charger and the "Hero" start up screen shoes up. And thats it. It has now been showing this screen for at least 5 hours. I have tried to take out the battery, but when i put it in again, the same ting happens.
I also tried to connect it to the pc, but again nothing happens.

Any solutions? Preferably without loosing all my texts and many of my contacts

download the ruu from htc site and update it should get the phone up and running,but i am not shure about the texts and contacts.and if that doesent work try turning on the phone with Home+Power this should get you in the recovery menu and do a hard reset.
