I present to you, my fellow Motion lovers, Flashable Boot Animations for a more custom look. Once I have more animations put together, I will make an Aroma Installer for theme.

For Portal lovers, have a simple boot animation for you. This was more or less a test, but something about a white boot screen is appealing to me.

Mass Effect's N7 program. I actually themed my entire phone N7, and wanted to make a boot animation to go with it. This animation, unlike the previous, specifically states it's on a Motion, lol. How many N7 Operatives do we have in the Motion forums?

This animation is based off the comic pages (felt they would look better than live action stills). I had quite a bit of fun making this one, and may come back to make a few more, just for this series!

The file(s) are flashable, so reboot into recovery, install from External SD (unless you have it on internal), and reboot. I suggest making a copy of your stock one, in case you want to return to it.

When I make the Aroma Installer, I will attempt to include as many ROM stock animations as I can.

The same exact thing happened to me, drove me crazy for an hour but I can't remember what I did to get it working. Once I remember I'll be sure to tell you.
 
I've tried zipping it several times. Over write the files on a confirmed working animation too. Laying my mind over it.
 
Well, trying to edit the ROMs base animation, with my phone, it said it's read only. Could that have anything to do with it?
 
First animation is now working, will be uploading shorty. I am taking requests for animations, examples will help me know what you want. The key thing, I am not doing PERSONALIZED ones at this time. You have a request, make it something that more than one person can use/like. Good examples would be a Star Wars style animation.
 
Dude, if you could somehow take the Breaking Bad theme song, and turn it into a boot animation, I would be the happiest person in the history of time.. just sayin' ;)

added gta style image from my previous post to the beginning and removed credits at end of animation.

it's a large file because the images are hi-res and there are 300 of them at 30fps for supreme quality ;)
it doesn't really go all the way to the end so i guess i could have made it shorter :o
if you flash it on stock it also has audio

how i did it:
i used ytd to download from youtube then used moo0 video minimizer to resize the video then used video to picture image converter then used irfanview to rename images to image###
you have to goto folder options and deselect hide protected operating system files because it puts a thumbs.db file in there that makes it not work. so you have to delete that file before zipping and you have to zip the file in "store" mode or it wont work.
 
Yeah, really hate CM10 not having audio. Been thinking of including sound in some of my animations for those still on stock. Beat me to it, johnny, and that turned out awesome. Mind if I add it to first post, with appropriate credit give to you, of course?

I am a little foggy on these directions... Last time I tried flashing a boot animation, all it did was remove my current animation and left me with a black screen instead. :/ irritated the piss out of me. Could you PM me directions on exactly what to do so I can backup the current AOKP DU animation I have now (cuz it is the tits) and actually make BreakingBad v2 work? If I get left with a black screen, I will kill babies.

those are directions on how to make your own bootanimation from a video. just flash the file. you can just rename your old one .bak in /system/media. i always test my files before i post them. it wont make your screen black. ;)

Updated first post with the Breaking Bad animations. Will make the fancy GIFs with the Motion cutout when I get home from work tonight.

Should have, by the end of the weekend, a Star Trek, Star Wars, and Assassin's Creed animation. If not this weekend, probably Monday, depending on my day job.

Installed breaking bad v2, the gta pic only shows up for a split second but i love it, it's exactly what I wanted, Soooooooo perfect ;)
 
My first iteration of the N7 animation, I mistook the frame timing for milliseconds... 1000 seconds and that boot animation would have taken like 6 minutes to finish. X.x
 
Walking Dead, added it to my list! I'm thinking comic book images, as they can potentially look much cleaner on our phones.

i agree. other forums, such as lg spirit might have a few post a day if lucky. we here at the motion forum welcome new users and have plenty of roms,ports,mods etc... to keep a person busy. and are diligent at making our phone do way more than it was intended. and are continuously adding more and more.
 
Dude, I will have an undying nerd b*ner if someone makes a walking dead boot animation.. I would love to see sound on boot on cm10.. That would make my day
