Root [Updated] Flashable Custom Boot Animations

Work is busier than expected, but tomorrow will be all about animations. Walking Dead is priority, and I will have 1-2 other animations up as well.

Rather than a walking dead theme song boot animation, you should use one of the quick action sequence teasers that they make for each season. That would be awesome

That is what I'll be aiming for, right there. While I love the show, I love
the comic artwork. That's probably just my nerd talking, though.

The only reason I decided to start making boot animations... Our forum, it's lively, and we have people who will appreciate such things. Of the forums I've seen, it'd take weeks before someone realized a thread like this was there, and the OP would have lost interest. :D
 
Walking Dead is up, I did not get a chance to test the flashable. BUT, it should work just fine. If any one wants to test and confirm, please let me know.

I put a preview of the animation up as well, can't get the previews of the Breaking Bad animations to load, unfortunately. Have to run a couple of errands, but I should have plenty of time to get 1 more promised animation up.

Who knows, I may find my groove and make 2 tonight!

Walking dead works PERFECTLY. I wish there was a way to thank a post like fifty times, because I would. A+ dude. Best boot animation of all time.

I try my best, thank you! How long does it stay on the final image, like on average? Been trying to get my animations to be roughly as long as a normal boot. The N7 one, my regular one, stays at the final image for just a few seconds.
 
Thank you, you have no idea how much that means to me. I was just looking for a way to return my gratitude to this community. When I got this phone, when it came out last year, I had no idea we'd have such an awesome forum. I mean, our phone doesn't even have a spot on XDA!

Every time I tried to learn about how something works, to try and provide a fix, I was light years behind. So, instead of trying to fix things that more capable people are making progress on... I decided to go with boot animations, mostly as a thank you to this entire sub-forum.

The last image flashes back and forth like four or five times then the final image stays up for about 4 seconds, plenty long enough. Wish there was a way to add sound to a boot animation..
 
I have to leave for work in ten minutes, so I don't have time to make the fancy GIF preview. Buuuuut... I just added an Assasin's Creed animation. It's lighter colors, and it's simplistic, but... It is also the smoothest (in my opinion), animation I've done so far. Hope you all enjoy it!

I'll try to check on this thread while working when possible, in case of any issues. I will be unable to address them for at least 12 hours, and that's if I don't go straight to sleep after this really long shift!

Good to hear! I will actually be adding sound to the Walking Dead animation, as soon as I have time and remember. It'll only be useful for those on a stock ROM, unless someone discovers how to add sound to CM ROMs. Wonder if anyone has been concerned enough to investigate it?
 
sound was possible with modifications on cm9 and i read it's possible on cm10.1 but i haven't been able to find a way to do it on cm10 but i'm still trying
 
Numerous people have opened "issues" on the CyanogenMod website, and almost every single time, the issue is closed within a day, because the entire CM team hates the idea of a bootup sound, and basically did everything they could to EXCLUDE it from CM after CM9. Shitty idea AFAIC, they should just make it an on/off option inside of the settings menus. I would love to see AOKP add it too, that would be sick, inside of the ROM Control.
 
Uploaded a preview image of the Assassin's Creed animation. I'm probably not going to have many animations up this week, going to be busy with work (jobs are so lame... but I need the money!). I have today off, so may get another one finished, but I also want to look into the boot sound thing, see if I can find anyone who has it working for CM10.
 
I would love to see a nicely done boot animation based off The Dark Knight movie.. Maybe you could convert a trailer/teaser... Lots of people would go bananas over that shyt :)

Giving me the warm and fuzzies, lol. I'll probably be this weekend for the next animation. Work is going to be pretty busy all week. Should have free time next week to make a few animations.
 
Hey i don't know if you are taking request.... But could you do like a battlefield 4 or a call of duty BO2 zombies boot animation?
 
I'll add that to my list, may take a week or two. Have a few other requests to do, and limited free time this week.
 
Okay, just an update on where I'm at with animations. Stumped with what I want to do with the Star Trek one. The Dark Knight one, not happy with how the current version looks. I refuse to post something I believe to be below my abilities. That doesn't mean it has to be the same quality as the other animations, just have to feel that specific one is the best I can do currently.

The other one I keep working on, would like a little help on it. I don't want to ruin the surprise, of course. But, this shouldn't give anything away... I hope... I basically need the story of our phones. I have been typing out how, in spite of our bootloader, we discovered a root that worked. Then to go on about us getting 2nd Init.

I would like the give credit to each of the major breakthroughs within the animation. Does anyone have suggestions on how this should read? If you're willing to write out our "full" story, that would be even better, and I'll give credit to you, of course. It needs to be short enough to be read within the average boot time. I tend to ramble too much to feel I can accomplish this one alone...
 
Still here, guys. Work has been busy, haven't had a lot of time to work on the animations. Still intend to make several animations for our phones (or any phone that shares our resolution). Keep an eye out!
