Help Updated may have borked my phone or what?

Last night my X started screwing up after the battery died and I charged it up a bit and turned it back on. Pretty much every ap I have including launcher pro is informing me that they have "Stopped unexpectedly" and "please try again" I can force close almost all of them, except Launcher pro keeps repeatedly trying to reload and keeps giving me the notice.. I can still receive calls, the time, battery life, signal bars and all that are still there.

I tried removing the battery twice is this something maybe related to the update not loading right or something? I saw there was a new one? Is there a way to interupt the loading apps? Sort of like F8 in Windows Safe mode?
 
Oh! Not sure if this had any contribution to the problem, but my battery seemed be dying really quick, since I got the 15% warning, then within 5 min got the 5% warning (I wasn't using the phone, and gps was off), so I put it in airplane mode right after the 5% warning. It still died like 1 min later.
 
Is your wifi on? If so disable it. You need to fully charge your battery before you try to diagnosis the real problem. You may have to eventually do a hard reset. If so make sure you back everything up first.
 
I gave up and did a hard reset. Before I did, I went to safe mode, and installed the latest 2.21, but even though it installed correctly, almost all my apps were still saying the same thing, and asking to force close. I was able to uninstall Launcher pro. So then I did the backup assistant, all my contacts were supposedly successfully backed up, but are not retrievable for some reason, and appbrain has no record of my installed apps either, even though I synced with it a week ago.....=( I had like 100 apps, most were free, but some I paid for. Now I gotta start all over again
