Ok when i try and turn it on (just pushing the End only) I just stays on the BeholdII screen and then if i do recovery mode (pushing Volume Down button, Call and End) it just stays on the black screen wit recovery mode in the top left hand corner and its been like that since yesterday no [!] is appearing. I dont know what to do now! PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!
 
Funny part is, when I put the OTA on, I re-installed all my "normal" apps that I've always used.


I finally, a few days later, decided to see what was T-Mo's picks.


I think I had five or six already installed :-P
 
Guys:

After the flash the only problem that I am having is the the stock Swype keyboard. It won't work. I can not type anything with swype and then it force closes on me. Any ideas?

this is off-topic, where do I go to look up phone memory, i went to memory status and then phone memory, and it says Phone memory, maximum:0 Available:0. WTF?
 
I have been experiencing a lot of fc problems and low memory after updating to stock 1.6. Seems that factory reset will resolve this problem. Will factory reset wipe out my contacts and downloaded applications? How do I do a factory reset? Also, can I delete applications that I either will "never" use or will only use once in a blue moon, so to release some memory space?

Thanks in advance for advice.

Yes factory reset will wipe out your contacts and apps, but if you initially sync them to google, you can sync them back so you won't have to manually put them in again (Major Time Saver). To do a factory reset, click menu, settings, sd card & phone storage, factory data reset. You can only delete the applications that you installed yourself, you can't delete pre-installed factory apps. That's one advantage of having a rooted phone is for.

Menu - Settings - Reset settings - Master reset (Restore factory setting value)? Is this the correct sequence? I could not find "sd card & phone storage" under Settings:confused:

Would you please tell me how to sync to gmail? Do I need to use usb cable to link the BH2 to computer in order to sync? If so, do I set usb to Mass Storage or Samsung PC studio? Will the sync include the downloaded applications, or do I have to manually re-download them again? Will I still have Swype after factory reset?

First thing after master reset is done is connect to google market using the market app. After that is set up sync of mail, calender and contacts is automatic.

Easy to check - log into gmail on your computer and check the contacts. I always maintain my contacts on gmail directly and let the autoupdate move them to my phone.
 
BurgDog, thanks a lot. Checked gmail and everything is fine. Did the factory reset and reinstalled only the apps that I use all the time. So far so good. :o

The way I fixed this was to push the old 1.5 stock to my phone first, then push 1.6 stock onto it. Seemed to be due to going from Galaxy R12 to Stock 1.6 directly.

Nope :( A2SD isn't supported by stock Android short of Froyo (2.2).
 
Update:

OK, I got about 60 mb, and so far, no fc problem. However, the battery drained quite fast. Last night I had the BH2 fully charged. Then tested maps navigation (btw, Maps couldn't find gps!!!), did some setting up (ring tones etc.), surfed a little. When I gone to bed, I lost one bar of battery. This morning, I woke up (8 hours later) I was down to 2 bars of battery. I played with it for about 10 minutes and BH2 notified me I only had 15% left. I downloaded Auto Task Killer, and killed everything except browser, gmail, wifi, messaging. 15 minutes later, I was notified of 3% of charge left. Another 5 minutes or so, the phone reboot by itself. At that moment, I took the battery and sim card out. Waited a minute, and recharge the phone with it off. It's still recharging now. I hope this solves the problem. Any suggestions?

There is another thread open that talks about issues with 1.6 and battery; but....with that being said:

Leaving your wifi on will drain most of the battery. I literally leave nothing on (data background, use wireless networks, enable gps) and I get about 36 hours of battery. And the funny thing is.....you really don't need any of those services running to use your phone like text messaging or phone calls, you only need those running to use their respective apps. Meaning, if you're gonna use Maps or a gps program, enable gps, if you're gonna use the wifi, enable it. Other than that, you don't need those running all the time. And you can put a power control widget on your home screen to enable/disable them when needed instead of having to go in the menu/settings all the time. And the only time I ever need data background enabled is when I use the market.

Thanks for the info. I take it then if I turned everything off, I would still receive text messages and gmail pushed? I am using Auto Task Killer, is that the widget you're talking about? TIA for advice.

Update: I used ATK to kill all apps. Still gets message and gmail push. However, if I turned off background data, no notice will arrive, so I left that on. Hopefully it will not drain the battery too much.
