Root Updated Odin Images Available - Latest T-Mobile Stock

A big "thank you" to all the people involved in this project.

It worked flawlessly on my stock Behold II. :)


P.S. I also ran into the touch screen problem. Thanks for the warning and solution as I would have freaked out thinking my phone is now a paperweight.
 
i tried flashing take5 back on it cause i wanted a2sd and root but it seems that a2sd isnt working for me, anyone else getting this too? :(

I went back to Take5 also and restored root and a2sd. I followed some How-to's that I found on this forum.
First I went to Terminal emulator and typed "su" and clicked the button "always allow" to give me root.
Then the following:
1. Set "usb debugging on"
2. Set USB Mode to "Samsung PC Studio"
I pushed the bhman file back to my phone following these instructions:

Download For Apps to SD ( A2SD ) > bhman
adb push ( bhman file location ) /system/bin
Quote:
adb shell
chmod 04755 /system/bin/bhman
reboot

If you get a black screen on reboot then do these commands:
******NOTE: I ran these anyway even though I didn't get a black screen, just ran them after my phone had fully booted.
1. Boots & goes to black screen
2. Plug usb into computer
3. Open a Command prompt
4. adb shell
5. cd /system/sd/app-private
6. rm -r *
7. cd /system/sd/dalvik-cache
8. rm -r *
9. reboot

Now I have root and my apps back. Hope this helps.
 
I appear to be finding out the hard way now that with this new install, I'm no longer receiving texts. Anyone else having a similar issue?

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently my memory was so low, the phone wasn't processing incoming texts. Not used to having this much bloatware / little memory.
 
Just want to share my experience. I initially flashed the new 1.6 directly from R12. First thing I did was restore my application backups and install Open Home because TW is just not what I want. Anywho, after installing Open Home I restarted my phone. When it started it was back to factory. I repeated, finding that any changes I made were wiped out at reboot.

I loaded the last 1.5 stock image and followed it with the 1.6 stock. Now it is working as I would expect it.

Moral of the story... Don't flash directly to 1.6 Stock from R12.

I need help with ODIN. ODIN recognized my BHII - 1 (COM 6). I loaded the ops. When I loaded the md5 file, it says "invalid image type". I clicked ok, then ODIN checked the file and said ok. When I clicked start, it says check image file. The ODIN program just says "downloading start ..." and sits there. Nothing happens. I redownloaded the JE2 image, same thing. Any idea? Much appreciated!

was your phone is download mode?
 
Yes, it was. I did volume down, ok, and power/end call triple combination. That's when ODIN recognized the phone in 1 (COM 6).

exit Odin, Right click on it go to Properties, click on Compatibility tab, check the box nect to "Run this program in compatibility mode" and run as Windows XP Service Pack 3, click "OK". Then run Odin again.

Make sure you have One Package checked
 
Nu11u5, microhaxo: You might want to ask Eugene (BH_MAN) about the screen lock up on restore. I remember he had that problem early on the 1.6 Galaxy roms and figured out what the deal was.
 
@Oghami, I tried that, but the compatibility mode only has choices for Windows 95, 98/ME, NT, and 2000, but nothing for XP. I am running Windows OS XP Pro Service Pack 3.

I also had One Package checked.

I read the Readme pdf file. There is something that said run adb setup.exe found in the Samsung ADB driver directory. However, the zip file does not have such a directory. One more question, when I unzipped the file, it kept saying for certain files, something to the extent that file exists, do you want to write over this file with another file. Some of these other files are actually older than the one they're supposed to replace. Should I replace them anyways?

Sorry for being such a noob, but I have 2 questions about the Behold II T939UVJE2 OEM Odin Files. Downloaded them and followed the instructions and everything worked perfectly, Thanks Nu11u5 for the instructions and files. I was amazed that, for my 1st time trying this, everything went perfectly-without a hitch!

I'm now at Firmware v 1.6, Baseband T939UVJE2, Kernel 2.6.29.

Am I correct in thinking that this is just like the update that T-Mobile/Samsung is currently putting out? (I had not rec'd mine yet, that's why I tried this route).
and
If I ever do a "factory reset", using only the phone itself, will it revert back to 1.5 or to 1.6??
 
Curiogeo, congratulations. I would like to know if you have to do the adb setup before ODINing the OEM rom? I keep running into the same problem that says "check image files", no matter which computer I used.

btw, I tried "adb devices", it only shows "SGH T939 device", but it does not show my phone's serial number. Is this good enough, or do I have to reload adb?

You never ever ever have to run any commands prior to ODIN

The single best feature of the Behold II is that ODIN allows it to be updated/flashed with absolutely ZERO pre-work needed other than installing the Windows drivers for the phone ;->
 
psz, thanks for your encouraging words. A few posts up, I explained my problem with ODIN. Any idea why it says "check image files" when I pressed start? When I clicked ok, the Message window says "Download Start ..." and sits there. The phone does not show any progress either.

MY APOLOGY TO THE FORUM... I did not read the entire Readme.pdf file. I loaded the image file as a PDA instead of One Package even though I checked the One Package process. I got the update. YAAAY. Thanks Nu11u5 for the instructions and files. Thanks all for help and encouragements. I got 1.6!!!!!!!

One question (hopefully this will be the last), do I need data plan to re-sign in to google again? None of the google related functions work after the upgrade. :(

Update: I used my wife's sim card and it asked for google sign in. I then switched back to my own sim card, and it asked for sign in again. I have google access again!
 
I tried to install the Samsung ADB driver prior to installing 1.6 and I kept getting a failed to install driver message. The computer wouldn't recognize my phone when I tried to boot up in download mode. I'm really new to this type of stuff so any help would be appreciated. I'm on Windows 7 if it makes a difference.

i had the same problem im on win 7 64 and i assume you are too.

ill link you to the page that has the correct drivers and il run you through it on here but at the current moment i just woke up, gotta take a duce, and have breakfast with my wife. so ill do it a bit later.
