Root Updated radios

I dont get very good service on my evo, and it has pretty bad battery life. i hear flashing a radio update can help a little bit.

will certain radios only work with certain android or software versions? im running freshs 3.1.0.1, so i have android 2.2 and software 3.26. if i flash a radio update and i dont have the right software installed will i go into a bootloop?

where can i find radio updates compatible with this rom?

If u got ur ROM from xda then theres no way could have missed it unless u flash stuff without reading first. [ROM] 8/3/10 | Fresh Evo 3.1.0.1 | FroYo | OFFICIAL 3.26.651.6 OTA + fresh goodies - xda-developers read @ the bottom of the first post and you'll find both radios there.
