Updated Touchwiz

Im new to the android update lifestyle so quick question. Any chance our Note 3s will get the same Touchwiz as the Note 4? As in being able to manipulate the screen similar to the note 4. Obviously this could remove some of the benefits of upgrading so Samsung may not do it but Im not familiar with past phone releases. Thanks

Note 4? perhaps you mean the Galaxy S5? (Note 4 hasn't launched yet)

The flatter TouchWiz didn't happen on the Note 3, and, in fact, got a visual downgrade to the same version used in the Galaxy S3 when it had 4.1.2 through the KitKat update. I found that sad, perhaps the downgraded the version of TouchWiz due to performance issues?

There is a custom ROM that has the S5 UI (which the Note 4 will get at launch) but of course you need to root to get that. out of the box with Android 4.4.2 the Note 3 has the S3's version of TouchWiz, including an older S-Voice, limited S-Health features, and the same ripple lockscreen effect (the light effect that graced the S4 and Note 3 was removed for some inexplicable reason)

Given the improvements and much-cleaner and faster responsiveness that the updated TouchWiz got, I felt jipped when my Note 10.1 2014 edition got the new look but the Note 3 did not, and got a downgrade visually as well. so I actually took the risks of blowing KNOX and rooted it and put the ROM that has the new look, and am quite satisfied with it. it seems the new look is inspired a bit by Google's new look since they share similar color and icon styles, so this also has the added benefit of reducing the gap between the Nexus and Samsung devices while preserving the many Samsung options that I have grown to love and desire. all the latest releases of Samsung phones, tablets, even their new SmartTV UI are using elements from the flatter TouchWiz.
