I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 flashed to Page Plus Cellular (they use Verizon Towers). My S3 has JB 4.1.1 but I understand there is an update out and is there anyway my phone can be updated by OTA. Page Plus doesn't offer updates when they don't sell the phone to you so when I check for updates the phone says you are updated even though I know there is a new update. I really don't want to root my phone because I'm really a newbie and I'm not into customizing the phone. I would appreciate it if someone knows how to do this without having to reflash my phone. The folks who flashed this pnone says it shouldn't remove their flash if I updated it. :mad:
 
Have you tried Samsung Kies program on a pc? Try that and if it doesnt work, we'll teach you another way (no root needed) :thumbup:
 
I just looked at Kies this morning and there isn't any thing there pertaining to software or hardware downloads. I have read in this forum that the latest VZW update was a disaster. Is this true? I would love to update to the new JB if you can walk me through it if they have fixed the update. Thanks
 
Yeah i think they later fixed that balls-up lol. Search for the latest version of verizon firmware on sammobile.com/firmware and download it to your pc and the software "Odin" ill find a guide to flashing it.....
 
I went in to the link you provided and looked at sammobile and they are going to release 4.3 JB starting in October. I think I'm going to wait and download that one. Many thanks for your help.
 
Keep in mind you must connect your phone to your pc when running Keis. After they are connected Keis searches for upgrades. Kies will indicate if there is an upgrade. I just upgraded my S2 to 4.1.2 using Kies and I love it.
