Root Updating baseband - unroot?

According to this howto:

It asks you to unroot prior to applying the baseband update with the stock recovery. Why is this required? Does having S-OFF change that?

yes s-off changes that unless you want to load the leaked ota for some reason.
the radio in that leak was dangerous in that it causes bricks if installed over itself.

best bet is to just flash 2.15 without messing with that ota. check the thread in the rom forum for the link and instructions. really easy install.

the reason you have to unroot is because the ota looks for stock recovery in order to install just like the 2.2 update will. fortunately with s-off you can flash the stock recovery easily.
