Help updating problem

Lurker
I have samsung galaxy Y s5630 and when i try to update it through Kies, it says "Your device's current firmware is not supported to update firmware via Kies", I have 2.3.6 firmware. When I try to update my phone through the mobile itself, because a firmware update is available, it downloads the update and reboots the phone to install the update then it says "Update unsuccessful, use Kies or any other software to update you device". Does anybody have a solution for this?

i have the same problem

I don't like Kies - it's huge, and slow as hell - it looks like a piece of software made by totally inexperienced group of programmers. And updates don't give the premonition that it will work any better. I can't update the phone by Kies because forementioned reasons. But I didn't have any problem to update the phone by WiFi connection and tools menu.
