Help Updating

Hi i recently bought a HTC sensation and i am unable to get the Android market to update or get any kind of update for that matter so i took the phone into a T-mobile shop as its a T-mobile phone although it has been unlocked with a code and they told me to try updating the HTC sync so i was wondering if anyone had heard of doing this before and if so how? and if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this issue? :S thanks for any help in advance :D
 
The T-Mobile staff were talking out of their asses - HTC Sync has nothing to do with the Play Store. Delve into your phone's app settings, find the Market/Play store, open the settings and click 'clear data' and 'clear cache'. After that, try opening the Market again. If the problem persists, a more recent version of the Play Store should sort you out.
